During the Spanish Inquisition, the Catholic Church authorized massive torture and violence against so-called "heretics" (non-conformists/non-believers). Although this history has been mocked by the likes of Mel Brooks and Monty Python, clearly, torture and violence are no laughing matter. Or are they? Do you support brute force against people who don't do what you want? How about murdering them if they don't do what you want... including children? Isn't it proper that, if someone disagrees with you, they should die? Liberals are angry at Tea Party protest signs, but they are very silent on the violence advocated in this film.
Be clear that this film is not suggesting the extermination of all human beings - just those who disagree. Insert any ideology into this film... don't agree with your government? (Pushes red button. Splat.) Don't believe in God? (Pushes red button. Splat.) Don't "support the troops?" (Pushes red button. Splat.) You won't recycle? (Pushes red button. Splat.) Don't want to purchase the products of this film's partners, or listen to Radiohead (who donated music to the film)? (Pushes red button. Splat.)
Putting aside 10:10's apologies for releasing this film (here and here), what do you think of the message? Does it motivate you to do something about global warming... I mean climate change... I mean global climate disruption? (After being caught "green-handed" in fraud through the ClimateGate scandal, a bit of rebranding was in order. After all, it worked for Blackwater, didn't it?) Do you think the video is funny, thought-provoking... or "bloody" stupid (pun intended)?
