Our members think INTELLIGENCE IS HOT! That's one of the primary reasons they're here - to seek it out. Our members want their minds stimulated. But of what use is your copious thought if you're not willing to do something with it? Care to regale your thoughts with others?

The more your articles are published... the more views of your profile!

E-mail your submissions to support@braincrave.com. Articles that are chosen for publication will get you six months of free Gold status! Articles must be the owner's original content or must include express permission of the author. Articles that reference other stories must have HTML links included.

When users view your article, they will have an opportunity to "sanction" it. Every time your article is sanctioned, it will earn sanction points. For every 100 sanction points earned, you will see the thinking man:

A thinking man is earned for every 100 sanction points

To show you our appreciation for submitting an article that is of significant value to our members, every time you earn a thinking man, we will give you an additional six months of free Gold status!

The more your articles are published, the more months of free Gold status AND the more views of your profile!

But what to write about? Anything that charges your emotions... anything that grabs you. Tell us your dreams. Tell us your big ideas. Tell us the small details. Tell us the grandiose themes. Tell us how you imagine. BUT TELL US! Here are a few ideas for inspiration:

  • Book/Article/Movie/Poetry reviews: Something you particularly enjoyed or hated? How did it relate to something that occurred in your life? Will its ideas change the way you think or act in the future? Are any of the scenarios or facts suspect? What kind of person would enjoy this book/article/movie?
  • Current or historical event: What's happening (or happened) in the world of which you approve or disapprove? How does it affect your life? Why is it important to you? If you could change something, what would it be?
  • Teaching a subject: Is there a particular topic for which you have a wealth of knowledge or a passion? Describe how to do something. The potential topics are vast: technology (how do you make a website?), politics (how does one become an activist?), social (when planning a party...), health/hygine (why should people get more vitamin D?), art (the latest collection at the art museum is...), science (why don't astronauts float away on the moon? no, its not because of heavy boots), parenting (discipline as a single parent), financial (how does Black/Scholes option-pricing work?), business (I'm a marketing manager - here's what I do...), economics (what is the Austrian school of economics?), gaming (why would you modify an Xbox?), travel (if you visit London, you must see...), food/drink (any sommeliers or chefs out there?), sports (how do you throw the perfect spiral?), pets (what are the 5 most important things when training a puppy?).
  • Philosophy: How does philosophy play a part in your life's decisions and actions? With which premises do you agree or disagree? How does your philosophy impact your friends and family? What experiences, studies, or parables brought you to thinking as you do? What have been some of the consequences for supporting or rejecting your principles? What arguments do you use to refute philosophies with which you do not agree?
  • Personal stories: Did you do something recently that you consider noteworthy? Would others enjoy hearing the details? Have a particularly great date that you wouldn't mind sharing ("Our first date was at an old, used bookstore - I ended up buying 7 books that he recommended... SO much better than dinner and a movie...")? Did something ironic happen to you recently? Play a particularly good game of chess and want to discuss your strategy?
  • Music/Videos/Artwork: Are you a composer or do you play an instrument? Have you produced a video? How about a poem? An essay? Have some artwork that you'd like to promote? YES, Braincrave will allow you to submit music, videos, pictures, etc. as long as they are your own. We'll even let you post dates and venues if you're in a band playing a gig or doing a showing of your artwork. We will even send out e-mails to members in your area to help you promote your work. (Please note - we never reveal e-mail addresses of individual members and do not give out mailing lists.)

You get the idea - your gray matters to us and our community. So don't delay - start writing your articles, earning your free Gold status, AND GETTING NOTICED!

About braincrave

relationships/dating/braincravebraincrave

We all admire beauty, but the mind ultimately must be stimulated for maximum arousal. Longevity in relationships cannot occur without a meeting of the minds. And that is what Braincrave is: a dating venue where minds meet. Learn about the thoughts of your potential match on deeper topics... topics that spawn your own insights around what you think, the choices you make, and the actions you take.

We are a community of men and women who seek beauty and stimulation through our minds. We find ideas, education, and self-improvement sexy. We think intelligence is hot. But Braincrave is more than brains and I.Q. alone. We are curious. We have common sense. We value and offer wisdom. We experiment. We have great imaginations. We devour literacy. We are intellectually honest. We support and encourage each other to be better.

You might be lonely but you aren't alone.

Sep, 2017 update: Although Braincrave resulted in two confirmed marriages, the venture didn't meet financial targets. Rather than updating our outdated code base, we've removed all previous dating profiles and retained the articles that continue to generate interest. Moving to valME.io's platform supports dating profiles (which you are welcome to post) but won't allow typical date-matching functionality (e.g., location proximity, attribute similarity).

The Braincrave.com discussion group on Second Life was a twice-daily intellectual group discussions typically held at 12:00 PM SLT (PST) and 7:00 PM SLT. The discussions took place in Second Life group chat but are no longer formally scheduled or managed. The daily articles were used to encourage the discussions.
