In my favorite book, Atlas Shrugged (a book about philosophy), there is the following statement: 'Thinking is man's only basic virtue, from which all the others proceed. And his basic vice, the source of all his evils, is the nameless act which all of you practice, but struggle never to admit: the act of blanking out, the willful suspension of one's consciousness, the refusal to think - not blindness, but the refusal to see; not ignorance, but the refusal to know.'
With that in mind, a fellow braincraver sent me the link to this video. At one point, I had tears in my eyes. At another, I was actually physically shaking from the horror. The primary purpose of police is not to protect you and they don't care one bit for the concept of rights - they are there to control you at the whim of politicians. They make your community more dangerous - not safer. I hope you won't refuse to think, to see, and to know this charade:

Sep, 2017 update: Although Braincrave resulted in two confirmed marriages, the venture didn't meet financial targets. The Braincrave.com discussion group on Second Life was a twice-daily intellectual group discussions typically held at 12:00 PM SLT (PST) and 7:00 PM SLT. The discussions took place in Second Life group chat but are no longer formally scheduled or managed. The daily articles were used to encourage the discussions.
