H.L. Mencken once said "A judge is a law student who marks his own examination papers." I'm not sure who is more morally corrupt - a judge, a lawyer, or a politician. What I do know is that, collectively, they all represent careers that are more immoral than a common thief or street thug.

None of this is to say that one person's opinion is as good as another's, or that a persuasive case cannot be made for a given normative standard. It is only that, no matter how strongly one holds to a given set of values - legal or otherwise - such preferences can never rise to a higher level than the thinking that produced them."

The Braincrave.com discussion group on Second Life was a twice-daily intellectual group discussions typically held at 12:00 PM SLT (PST) and 7:00 PM SLT. The discussions took place in Second Life group chat but are no longer formally scheduled or managed. The daily articles were used to encourage the discussions.
